Wal-mart is going to start selling cushions in the new year.
The retailer said Friday that it will start using black foam blocks for cushioning.
The foam blocks are made from foam made by the same company that makes the foam roller used in cushions, but they have been made in a different manner, the company said.
The foam was first introduced in the mid-1990s in cushioned and padded products such as the cushions and the rolled-up towels.
The new cushions are made with the foam block, which is made of a thin layer of foam that is placed between two layers of material.
The foam blocks have an insulating strength of about 1,000 pounds per square inch, according to the company.
The new cushion and roller cushion products will begin shipping this summer.
The cushions will be available in three colors, white, gray and black.
The roller cushions were first introduced last year.
The company also plans to add two new cushion types, a foam roller and a cushioned foam roller.
“For a variety of reasons, we have always focused on the cushioned roller,” Wal-marts spokesman Brian Brown said in a statement.
“We are excited to see the new generation of cushions from KAISEN.
We believe they are the future of the industry and are proud to offer the new cushioned rolling products that will truly transform our customer experience.”
The company plans to sell about 4 million cushions annually by the end of the year.
